Markup Commands
As of this release, Markup Commands can be created for specific groups or users. If a user is a member of more than one group, all accelerators for all groups that the user is a member of will be loaded and available.
If multiple Markup Commands are loaded that have the same accelerator key, the most specific Markup Command for the user will be assigned to the accelerator key. The most specific command is one that is assigned to the user, followed by the user’s default group, then any other group the user is a member of (ordered alphabetically), followed by any general Markup Commands.
Markup Commands must have a unique Description and accelerator key combination (if specified) for a given Assignee (user, group, or all) on a given System.
The new Markup Commands form appears as follows in Admin:
Description is a plain-English description of the purpose of the Markup command. This description is displayed to the user when they access the Markup Commands within the FaxAction Client. This field is required.
Code is the actual text that is placed into the ad or story text when the user selects this Markup Command. The text can have multiple lines and can contain the text of other Markup Commands or special characters.
Assignee Type is used to choose which type of user the Markup Command will belong to. The options are:
· All – All users will have access to it
· Group – Only users that are a member of a particular group will have access to it
· User – The user specified in Assignee is the only one that will have access to it
An Assignee Type must be selected before the form can be filed.
The Assignee list is only displayed if Group or User is selected as the Assignee Type. It will contain the full list of users or groups as appropriate and an item must be selected if the list is displayed.
Add After Code controls what is added after the code in the Code box has been added to the text. The default is Space, but this can be changed to Nothing or End of Line.
System defines the system that the Markup command applies to. If <NONE> is selected, then the Markup command will be available to all systems. Otherwise, it will only be available on the selected system. The same markup command can be used in more than one system. This would be used if the text that is associated with the markup command were different for each system.
The second Add After Code and Post Selection Code fields work exactly the same as the first Add After Code and Code fields, respectively, being placed into the document text immediately after any selected text in the ad. If the user has not selected any text in the ad, only the information in Code is placed at the current cursor location.
Accelerator
Commands used to associate the Markup command with a keystroke that the user can execute without calling up the Markup Commands list. For example, the Bold command could be assigned to CTRL+B. When a user executes this keystroke, the text from the Code window will be automatically placed at the user’s current cursor location. To assign an accelerator to a Markup command, first select the appropriate key from the Key list. If the list is active, typing the key on the keyboard will automatically position the list to the correct entry. Once the Key is selected, choose the appropriate accelerator keys, if any, by checking any combination of the Ctrl, Alt, and Shift boxes. Due to the way that Windows handles accelerator keys, if the key that is selected in the list can only be produced by pressing Shift and then another key, the accelerator must be applied to the non-shifted key. For example, the exclamation mark (!) can only be generated by pressing Shift and 1. Therefore, the accelerator can only be assigned to the 1 key.
Note: Changes to the Markup commands will not take effect for users currently running the Client until they exit and restart the Client.
