Email Subject Lines
Email Subject Lines allows sites to automate the handling of junk email and reduce the feedback loops that can occur when out-of-office auto-replies are sent in response to a FaxAction receipt.
FaxAction Input Server compares the subject line of each incoming Email message with the each Email Subject Line record until it finds a match. When a match is found, the Action specified in the Email Subject Line record is executed. Actions that are currently supported are to not send a receipt and to not store the incoming document in the database.
To configure Email Subject Lines, from the Maintain menu, select Subject Lines. Records in the list can be created, changed, and deleted using the standard list buttons described in the FaxAction Admin Manual.
Changes to records in this list do not take effect until the Email FaxAction Input Servers are either stopped and restarted or are instructed to re-read their configuration through FaxAction Server Administrator.
Record Details

The Subject Line field contains the data that is compared to the incoming Email’s subject line. This field is a required to contain data before the form can be successfully filed.
How the comparison is made is based on the value selected in the Match Method dropdown list. All comparisons are case-insensitive. The available options for Match Method are:
· At Beginning – Only look for the contents of the Subject Line field at the beginning of the Email’s subject line.
· Exact – The Subject Line field and the Email’s subject line must be identical.
· Anywhere – The contents of the Subject Line field can be found anywhere in the Email’s subject line.
What happens to the incoming Email when a match is made is determined by the value of the Action dropdown list. The available values for Action are:
· Don’t Store in DB – The incoming Email is not stored in the FaxAction database and a reply is not sent to the originator.
· Don’t Send Reply – The incoming Email IS stored in the FaxAction database, but a reply is not sent to the originator.
