Host Server Changes
Unisys Host Support
The Host Server has been modified to support Unisys systems. This support is documented in the Unisys Host Server section of the Admin documentation.
Primary Key Updates
Previous versions of the Host Server had no limitations on which columns could be updated in database tables through the Form Edit Fields. When a Form Edit Field was configured for a primary key column of a table, the database update of the data returned from the host system would fail, even though the ad or story was successfully created on the host system. This had the potential to cause multiple ads to be created in the host system because the document would be returned to the user’s Pending list, but the user would not read or understand the error message generated by FaxAction and would submit the document to the host again.
In order to prevent this problem from occurring, the Host Server has been modified to force all Form Edit Fields that contain a primary key field to be marked as send only, thus preventing them from being updated in the database.
Outbound Processing
The Host Server has been modified to support outbound processing for Unisys and SII Host Systems. The Outbound processing support includes monitoring the Host System for user requests, obtaining the necessary data from the host system, initiating the notification request in the FaxAction database, and informing the originator of the Host System request about any problems that occurred during the processing of the request.
Please see Outbound Communication for more information.
