What's New In This Release

FaxAction Baseline Release 2.0 contains a substantial number of enhancements that have been designed in conjunction with customers to improve the functionality and usability of the product.

 

Many substantial enhancements have been made to the product. These enhancements include integration with additional systems (Host, Input, Email, OCR, and Fax), usability enhancements, and functionality enhancements.

 

Major usability enhancements include:

 

·     The ability to reassign a document while viewing an image from the Pending list

·     More control over image zooming

·     Changing SQL Server user passwords from the Client

 

Some of the major functionality enhancements include:

 

·     Monitoring multiple Email addresses or multiple directories from a single Input Server

·     Monitoring FTP Servers for new files

·     Increased filtering and processing capabilities for Email

·     The ability to create Markup Commands for specific users and groups

·     Auto-association of new Email addresses or fax CSIDs with accounts

·     Multiple groups per user

 

The major system changes that have occurred include:

 

·     Unisys has replaced PPI as a supported Host System

·     Scansoft has been added as an alternate OCR engine

·     Two new Fax systems have been added: FaxMaker and the FaxAction Fax Service

·     Lotus Notes has been added to the list of supported Email systems

 

Operating System Support

 

This is the last release that will contain FaxAction clients capable of running on 16-bit operating systems.

 

All FaxAction server and client processes have been verified to run correctly on Windows 2000. However, neither FaxWorks nor FaxPort have been tested for correct operation on Windows 2000.
